Dr Andrew Li is a Sydney based Skin Cancer Doctor. For the past 20 years he has been working in the area of skin cancer medicine in both Queensland and New South Wales. He has a Diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine from the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. He has been an active member of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia since the formation of the College.
Male circumcision is also one of Dr Li's special interests. He has had over 25 years experience in performing this procedure. He is one of the few doctors in Australia with extensive experience in performing male circumcision and is a proud member of the Circumcision Academy of Australia.
Dr Andrew Li was trained and awarded as a Neurosurgeon in China during early stage of his medical career. After arriving in Australia in 1988 he was initially involved in Neuroscience research at the University of Sydney for over 2 years. He then went through the comprehensive medical licensing examinations through the Australian Medical Council and successfully passed all components of the licensing requirements and was awarded his Australian Medical Council Certificate in 1996. He then worked in a variety of major teaching hospitals for 5 years such as Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney Children's Hospital and St George Hospital.
In 2001 he joined the training program for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. During this time he spent 2 years in North Queensland where he treated hundreds of patients with skin cancer and gained extensive experience in this area. He successfully completed all requirements of the college and was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2004. Subsequently he opened his own skin cancer clinic in Lane Cove known as Longueville Road Medical Centre & Skin Cancer Clinic in 2005 where he spent almost 5 years and treated thousands of patients with skin cancer.
Dr Li has also pursued further studies specific to Skin Cancer Medicine. He has successfully completed all requirements of the Skin Cancer College Australasia and has been awarded a Diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine. In order to achieve highest possible accuracy of diagnosing early skin cancer, Dr Li has also completed an advanced skin cancer diagnosed course through the Skin Cancer College Australasia and has been awarded a Certificate of Dermocopy. Over the years he has successfully treated tens of thousands of patients with all forms of skin cancers range from early to advanced skin cancers, from melanoma to non melanoma skin cancers such as basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma using surgical and non surgical treatment techniques. His high level of surgical skills and expertise in the areas of skin cancer medicine and male circumcision enable his patients to achieve best possible treatment outcomes in almost all cases that he has treated.
His main interest areas are definitive treatment of head / neck skin cancers, using highly specialized treatment techniques such as Staged Margin Controlled Surgery (slow Mohs) and male circumcision. His other interests are total body photography / monitoring high risk of skin lesions, photodynamic therapy which is a new technology for treatment and prevention of skin cancers as well as the removal of body surface tumours, lumps, bumps, lipoma, cysts removal, ingrown toenail treatment.
Dr Li has been passionate about Aesthetic Medicine, which is complimentary to the area of skin cancer medicine and he has obtained a certificate in Aesthetic Medicine from a highly recognised training institution in the field - the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. He is also a member of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.
