Our Billing & Bulk Billing Policy
Drummoyne Surgery & Skin Cancer Clinic Sydney is predominately a mixed billing practice. All consultations regarding skin cancer checks and circumcision inquiries are bulk billed. There may be a fee payable when treatments are required with exception of cryotherapy which is bulk billed. Bulk billing is also available for pensioners and Centrelink health care card holders for treatment of diagnosed skin cancer except Staged Margin Controlled Surgery or Mohs Micrographic Surgery. No referral is necessary.
In general all surgical procedures and treatments are charged at either the rates set out in the Australian Medical Association List of Medical Services and Fees or agreed fees. These charges will attract a Medicare rebate and contribute to Medicare Safety Net. Payment can be made by cash, eftpos or credit card (credit cards such as Visa or Master attract 1% surcharge and 2% for American express). Some treatments and services are not claimable on Medicare such as photodynamic therapy.
Please note that unlike many other skin cancer clinics in Sydney, we offer 24 hours, 7 days a week post operative medical care which is included in the cost of surgical treatment. If any of our patients require care after-hours, post surgery, no additional charges are incurred.
Deposit & Cancellation Policy
A deposit may be required at the time of booking for treatments or surgeries of 30 minutes or longer. The amount payable will be dependent upon the total fee and the length of time required. Please be aware of the following rules relating to cancellation and refunding of the deposit:
In the event of a cancellation or no show-
Payments are generally non refundable.
Medicare Safety Net
Medicare Safety Net provides additional help for families and individuals with out-of-pocket costs when they receive medical services provided by doctors outside of hospital. This financial assistance is payable in addition to the benefit set in the Medicare Benefit Schedule Services list.
When you pay your doctor in full and claim your rebate through Medicare, MedicareAustralia will automatically keep a record of your medical expenses for you. In most cases when you are nearing your threshold, they will write to you to let you know so it is important that you 1) provide Medicare with all your receipts and 2) ensure they have your correct details. Once you have reached your threshold, all further non-hospital claims you make for that calendar year may attract a higher benefit.
